Since its establishment in 1921, the hotel has been perceived as the most prestigious place in the city situated under Marjan Park. The Hotel Park has been a synonym for top gastronomy for over a century. If the old townspeople wanted to praise the food, they would say: "It's like eating in the park!", meaning how the food is delicious. Hotel "Imperial" was opened in 1921 in the original building of Hotel Park - formerly Villa Dvornik, built according to the project of Vjekoslav Ivanišević and Fabijan Kaliterna - students from Prague and one of the founders of the football club "Hajduk“ which is another symbol of the city of Split.

In 1938, the hotel was expanded for the first time and since then it has been operating under the name of "Hotel Park". The soul of this hotel has always been the spacious terrace overlooking the sea, where Tin Ujević himself wrote his most beautiful verses.
